For those of you interested in an offshore life of luxury (as opposed to elegant homes and fancy cars), you may want to check out the M/V Azzam, which is currently the world’s largest super yacht.
Commissioned by Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi of the United Arab Emarates, the Azzam was constructed by the German Shipbuilder, Lurssen, and launched on April 6th.
The Azzan not only boasts the work of famous yacht designer Christophe Leoni, but it also incorporates the most up-to-date technology and ocean engineering.
It is capable of cruising at speeds of over 30 knots! (That’s almost 35 mph for you land folk) And for yacht that is 590ft in length.
This impressive feat is made possible by its twin gas turbines and dual diesel engines that put out a grand total of 94,000 horsepower.
So as Azzan sits in the waters off the coast of Dubai, it is currently the longest yacht in the world.
It will stay that way until yet another arab prince steps forward to obtain the title for his own. That is, unless you have $600 million dollars to build one…
